Wraaang is Manuel Serrano’s solo project. He hails from Puente
Genil, the geographical centre of Andalusia and a town with a long
tradition of olive cultivation. His musical project was born out of a
need, in the face of leaving. A need to hold on to his roots in a place
that now exists only in memories. He sets longing to music and tells a
story he has not lived, but which he might have lived. He sets the
sunsets amongst the olive trees to music, the stifling heat, and the
cicadas you hear in the background during a siesta on an impossible
summer’s day.
Guitars, loops and percussion take centre stage in his compositions,
where hints of flamenco, psychedelia and ambient music can be sensed.
