ARE YOU GLAD TO BE IN America? ist ein transatlantisches Power-Trio: Im Mittelpunkt steht Simone Magioncalda, ein junger Gitarrist aus Genua, Italien, geboren 2006. Bass spielt Kenneth Jimenez, der ursprünglich aus Costa Rica stammt und heute in New York City lebt, komplettiert wird die Band vom 1972 in Vorarlberg geborenen Schlagzeuger Alfred Vogel.Das Trio hat seinen Namen und seinen Geist von James „Blood“ Ulmers bahnbrechendem Album „Are You Glad to Be in America?“ – dem 1980 erschienenen Album, auf dem Ulmer E-Gitarre, Funk, Free Jazz, Rock und harmolodisches Denken zu einer Musik vereinte, die zugleich wild, seltsam und intensiv körperlich war.Doch die drei sind keine Tribute-Band: Die Musik von ARE YOU GLAD TO BE IN America? nutzt Ulmers Vokabular nur als Ausgangspunkt: verzerrte Gitarre, elastischer Bass, gebrochene Rhythmen, tiefe Grooves, plötzliche Wendungen, Wiederholungen, Noise und freie Improvisation finden hier zusammen.Gegenseitig wird sich einander viel Raum gelassen, das Trio wird nicht als „Gitarre mit Rhythmusgruppe“, sondern vielmehr als ein einziger, sich ständig wandelnder Organismus verstanden.

Wraaang is Manuel Serrano’s solo project. He hails from Puente
Genil, the geographical centre of Andalusia and a town with a long
tradition of olive cultivation. His musical project was born out of a
need, in the face of leaving. A need to hold on to his roots in a place
that now exists only in memories. He sets longing to music and tells a
story he has not lived, but which he might have lived. He sets the
sunsets amongst the olive trees to music, the stifling heat, and the
cicadas you hear in the background during a siesta on an impossible
summer’s day.
Guitars, loops and percussion take centre stage in his compositions,
where hints of flamenco, psychedelia and ambient music can be sensed.

Am 28. September ist wieder Safe Abortion Day: Ein bundesweiter Aktionstag für reproduktive Selbstbestimmung. Der §218 StGB verbietet seit 1871 – und damit seit nunmehr 155 Jahren! – Schwangerschaftsabbrüche und stellt sie unter Strafe. Feministische Organisationen und Vereine wie pro familia nehmen das nicht hin und setzen sich damals wie heute für die Entkriminalisierung von Schwangerschaftsabbrüchen und das Recht auf reproduktive Selbstbestimmung ein.

Bebawinigi (Italien) ist Sängerin, Komponistin und Multiinstrumentalistin und bewegt sich mit ihrem Soloprojekt frei zwischen Industrial, New Wave, Punk, Noise, Folk, Jazz und Klassik. Im Zentrum steht ihre Stimme, die durch ein breites Spektrum an Klangfarben, Registern und Stilen wandert – theatralisch, anarchisch und immer genreübergreifend. Ihr gegenüber steht dAMAGEMENT (Köln) mit einer Musik voller Umwege und Verzerrungen, widerhallend von Körpern und Seelen im Wandel. Zwei kompromisslose Klangkonzepte treffen an diesem Abend aufeinander und öffnen einen Raum zwischen Zerbrechlichkeit und Intensität.

Wir organisieren ausschließlich Avantgarde / Experimental Konzerte.
Falls ihr andere Musikrichtungen spielt, sieht bitte erst zu, dass es musikalisch einigermaßen zum Laden passt (es dürfen keine zu laute Konzerte bei uns stattfinden) und dass ihr eine Veranstalter*in habt, der/die sich um GEMA, Miete, Werbung und Sound kümmert.
