meine downs, weil ich weiß, dass Menschen die nicht so viel Glück haben
ihre Berufung gefunden zu haben, daran zu Grunde gehen würden. Ich denke
ich weiß, dabei weiß ich so viel wenig. Ich bin mir aber sicher, dass
die Welt gut ist und das meine Berufung ist, den Zweiflern einen Weg zu
ebnen um aus dieser Hölle des Zweifelns herauszufinden. Dies ist für all
die suchenden und zweifelnden. Ich bin erst am Anfang mit meinen 33
Jahren, aber wer ist das nicht in diesem Alter. Lasst uns darüber

David Wallraf
David Wallraf (no pronouns or they/them) is a nonbinary noise artist and theorist from Hamburg. In their audio works they explore the acoustics of the uncanny: Field recordings, electromagnetic waves and obsolete audio technology are woven into soundtracks for the nightmare of ‚capitalist realism‘. Since 2013 they released about 80 solo works and collaborations. In February 2025, the tape album Crudeltá Necessaria was released on Karlrecords. They regularly collaborate with artists from the international experimental music scene and noise underground, most recently with the Korean noise artist Jena Jang. An ongoing interest is the live scoring of surrealist silent films, including works by Luis Buñuel, Maya Deren and Jean Genet.
David’s dissertation on noise, the book Grenzen des Hörens – Noise und die Akustik des Politischen (Limits of Hearing – Noise and the Acoustics of the Political) has been published in German, an English translation is in process. From 2016 to 2019 they organised the international festival Noisexistance at Schwankhalle Bremen and Kampnagel in Hamburg, featuring (among others) concerts by Wolf Eyes, Moor Mother and Peter Brötzmann and talks by Paul Hegarty, Marie Thompson and Cecile Malaspina. They were a lecturer at the Listening Biennial 2023 in South East Asia, with workshops and talks at University of the Philippines, Silpakorn University in Bangkok and Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Bjarni Daníel Þorvaldsson (ISL)
artpop & experimental indie aus Reykjavík
Collaboration and community have shaped the musical life of songwriter and musician Bjarni Daníel, who grew up in Reykjavík and has deep roots in the city's vibrant music scene. As a member of bands such as Supersport!, Skoffín and bagdad brothers, his voice has become synonymous with the ideals of the local DIT (do-it-together) movement, spearheaded by the music and art collective Post-dreifing. Bjarni Daníel's compositions display a penchant for rawness and vulnerability, as evident on "the bull's eye" – an exclusive Bandcamp release. This collection includes numerous musical ideas in their simplest forms, mostly recorded with Bjarni's cell phone in the raw moments of their creation. He is currently working on his debut solo album, which will be produced by Bjarni's longtime friend and collaborator Árni Hjörvar Árnason, a member of British indie icons The Vaccines. “DÍSEL” the title track and first single off the upcoming album was released in may. -

Ein Aufhocker ist ein Quälgeist, der Wandernde des Nachts im Wald heimsucht. Mal in der Gestalt eines Kindes, mal als Greis und mal als Tier bespringt der Formwandler* den Menschen rücklings und wird mit jedem Schritt schwerer. Verwandt ist er mit Irrlicht und Vampir, aber auch mit Ohrwurm, Nachtmahr oder Kraxe. Den hellen Ton von Glocken kann der Aufhocker nicht ausstehen, ebenso das Morgenlicht. Enttäuscht fällt er ab und zieht sich zurück, vorerst. Nikolas Müller liest aus aus und/oder um seinem Buch "Behindert die Anfänge" ZOVV unterstreicht mit seinem Ultra LowFee Sound Poetik und Wut der Lesung noch mal ganz dick. -

Ein von Student*innen der Hochschule Macromedia organisiertes Kneipenquiz mit den Themenschwerpunkten: Queer History, Popkultur und Leading Figures. Neben dem Bewusstsein für Queer Culture soll es vor allem auch darum gehen, einen geselligen Abend außerhalb des Unikontextes zu verbringen, der auch für alle außerhalb der Hochschule offen ist. Dadurch sollen Kontakte über den eigenen Studiengang hinaus geschaffen werden, um beispielsweise neu zugezogenen Student*innen die Möglichkeit zu geben, Fuß in einer neuen Stadt zu schaffen.

on May 31st we’ll be hosting Cincinnati’s Artifical Go at our beloved local watering hole, Asimmetric. Led by renegade artist/musician Angie Willcutt, Artifical Go is a stylistically sporadic and joyous ensemble of veteran musicians hailing from arguably one of America’s new capitals of modern music. Ryan Sennett’s gentle yet jangle driven guitar riffs, Micah Wu’s fantastically dandy bass lines and Cole Gilfilen’s heavily concentrated drum beats act as an orchestra to Willcutt’s seemingly Dada-esque libretto. Part musical whirlwind and part wild ride of Americana theatrics, Artifical Go is without a doubt one of the bands people walk away from with a jubilant and lasting impression. -

Die Rauheit des Grunge trifft rätselhafte Ästhetik – handgemacht und unperfekt
Seit einigen Jahren beschäftigte Laurenz Bick sich wieder stärker mit der Suche nach einer neuen, künstlerischen Ausdrucksform. Es zog ihn weg vom seinen beruflichen Alltag bestimmenden Computer, und er widmete sich einer speziellen Drucktechnik. Aus der Rauheit des Grunge und seiner Ästhetik, der Präsenz typografischer Elemente aus Magazinfundstücken, und Laurenz Bicks sensiblem Umgang mit Farbtönen und -kombinationen entstehen Drucke, die das Handgemachte und Unperfekte einsetzen, um vielschichtige und rätselhafte neue Bildzusammenhänge zu kreieren. Vieles ist dabei nur Andeutung oder bleibt fragmentarisch. -

Wir widmen diesen Abend dem klanglichen Erbe von Coil – einer der einflussreichsten und rätselhaftesten Formationen der experimentellen Musikgeschichte – sowie ihren Weggefährten und musikalischen Verwandten.Eine Reise durch Deep Listening, Industrial-Rituale und hypnotische Elektronik, mit:
– Coil: Von den frühen Industrial-Wurzeln bis zu den mondsüchtigen Klängen von Musick to Play in the Dark.
– The Industrial records Family: Musik von Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle und Chris & Cosey.
– Related Bands: Nurse With Wound, Current 93, Einstürzende Neubauten und zeitgenössischen Acts, die das Erbe des Post-Industrial weitertragenÜber Coil: „The Darker the Night, the Brighter the Stars“
Gegründet 1982 von John Balance und Peter „Sleazy“ Christopherson (ehemals Throbbing Gristle), waren Coil weit mehr als eine Band. Sie waren Alchemisten des Klangs. Ihr Werk bewegt sich zwischen extremem Industrial, neoklassischen Elementen, Acid House und okkulten Ambient-Landschaften.
Sie verwandelten Chaos in Poesie und machten das Unsichtbare hörbar. Ihr Einfluss auf die elektronische Musik und die Gothic/Industrial-Subkultur ist bis heute riesig.

Die legendäre Trio Reihe geht in die vierte Runde und die Protagonisten haben sich nochmal auf die Bretter begeben, auch wenn die Knochen mittlerweile schmerzen und man im Grunde zu alt ist für den Scheiß. Trotzdem wurde die MiniDV Kamera ein weiteres Mal zum glühen gebracht und von Ehrenfeld bis Bordeaux feinste Footage gecaptured. Kommt vorbei und genießt mit uns die Weltpremiere dieses Feel-Good-Rollfilms. Herausgekommen ist ein Skateboard Video für die ganze Familie.

Join us for Sync Up, a fun and welcoming speed-dating night made just for the FLINTA community in Köln. Whether you’re hoping to spark a friendship, romantic vibe, creative project, or just want to hang out with inspiring people — this is your space.
Hosted by the Pagu Collective, the event will take place at Asimmetric Bar, a queer-friendly venue where safety, joy, and community come first. We’ll take care of the matchmaking, so you can relax, be yourself, and enjoy the conversations.
This is our very first event, and it also marks the official launch of the Pagu Collective — a community-powered space for FLINTA folks to connect, share knowledge, and build both cultural and professional networks.We’ll share more soon about how everything will work — stay tuned!

Join us for our first Beer&Queer event for Queers &Friends at the Asimmetric Bar in Ehrenfeld! 🌈
We’re looking forward to an evening with a lot of interesting conversations, special drinks and music. This is a solidarity event for SOFRA – Queer Migrants e.V. We’re a self-organized group by and for LGBTIQ+ migrants and refugees. Most of our events, such as this one, are coordinated by our hard-working volunteers. Donations are very welcome!
